New screen awards to honour local films and filmmakers were presented at a luncheon in Sydney last Sunday. The Australian Academy Cinema Television Arts (AACTA) Awards were launched by the Australian Film Institute (AFI) last year to boost the recognition of Australian produced films and television shows, both nationally and internationally.
